GROUP 11

Kaetlin McGee

My role in the group is Editor. I have been responsible for putting together the deliverables by gathering the sections everyone has done, and putting them into one coherent report. I also have been in involved in the prototype manufacturing, mainly creating the drawings for the custom parts and overseeing the manufacturing of the box. I have also been active in keeping the group on task and on time for prototype manufacturing so we have a few days to test and troubleshoot before final delivery.

Lenny Nivar

My team role is Prototype Manager. As a prototype manager, my main focus in the group is to manage technical tasks related to the fabrication of the prototype. Throughout the project I’ve been able to document the pros and cons from our last design in order update the new design. The new design changes were done with reference to our Bills of Materials, the material manufacturability, the components shipping, my teammates library review and advice from our machine shop advisor Xinnan Peng. Overall I have form part of the prototype fabrication process.

James O'Dowd

My role is the Webmaster. I am responsible for the creation of the website you see. I accumulate all that the group has done and organize it online. I add some discussions about some sections, upload some photos, and make the page pleasing to look at. As the project progresses I update the site to show new content and information on the prototype. I also have had a hand in the manufacturing of the prototype. I dealt mainly with the PVC piping section. I also did some research on our project pertaining to environmental impact.

Matthew Mundt

I have the role of project coordinator. This involved not only organizing and planning group meetings, but also included keeping the fabrication of the prototype on schedule. Additionally, all organization material such as the Gannt chart was kept up to date by me.

Shane Lewis

My team role is technical manager. I oversee and personally take part in the design and analysis of the system prototype. I specifically focused on the design and implementation of the Arduino micro controller, moisture sensor and solenoid. Also led the programming of the Arduino system that would allow the user control over the irrigation system. Managed any work that needed done with the connection of Arduino to the complete prototype of the closed loop irrigation system.
